My personal favorite mod is the Arcaniac Graphics Mod. I don't know if they ever fixed it or not, so beware. There's also a fairly popular balance/bugfix mod called SCP, although iirc the head developer got a bit, um, autistic with the details and wound up doing things like breaking the game in an attempt to make the laser pistol more 'realistic'. Vurt's Organics (organic objects) - All except Biomatter and GrubPodSlimey. Vintage Song Remake (original music, better quality) Tacticool complete (improves weapon models) Rebirth (updates character models whether they're better or worse is up to you) Olfred's fixed objects (bugfixed object models)įour Hundred (world texture upgrade) - Skip the Removed Content package, it has issues. Vurt's Flora Overhaul (updated plant life) Its a much deeper game than almost every modern game out there. If you can live with these two minor/moderate issues, there are chances that this is going to be one of your favorite games ever.

There is a mod somewhere that 'fixes' this issue, although i'm not sure if you should use it because it messes with the game's difficulty (meaning that you won't have to spend any skill points on repair skill). Again, this won't be a problem later on when you get used to the game's mechanics and there are tons of repair items to find, but many agree that the degradation rate is too fast so it can be an annoyance. This is not a problem for most of the game, its actually fun, especially when you get powerful enough, but it can be an issue very early in the game, in a central area where enemies regenerate faster than they should, even if you don't leave the area. This means that when you clear some sections it doesn't mean enemies won't appear again if you come back later (it depends on the area). The game is not linear and has plenty of backtracking, think something like Metroid.

However they are there because they work well in this particular game.

The game is a masterpiece but you should also be prepared for some.
